Although great
strides have been made in preventing tooth decay with the advent
of fluoridated water, tooth loss due to gum disease is still very
common.
During
your comprehensive new patient examination visit, we will do a thorough
gum and bone exam. We'll discuss the various factors associated
with gum disease, and will outline a customized treatment plan to
help you achieve healthy gums and bone.
We
have many nonsurgical treatment options that provide remarkable
results.
Our
hygienist will demonstrate techniques for removing plaque from all
surfaces of the patient's teeth.
After treatment
with the hygienist, on every subsequent visit we will re-evaluate
your condition. If your condition does not improve, surgery may
be required. We'll work closely with a periodontal specialist to
make this process as smooth and comfortable as possible.
